MV Markan is a stunning deluxe superior vessel, launched in 2018, offering an exceptional cruising experience along the Croatian coastline.

She features 9 VIP cabins on the upper deck, each with a private balcony for uninterrupted sea views; 2 main deck cabins with easy access to the ship’s public areas; 7 lower deck cabins with ample space and modern amenities.

  • I am writing to tell you about the trip that my husband and myself took on the Markan (voyage commencing the 15. 07. 22). We are not normally advocates of cruising and it was by chance we discovered your company and the trip along the Croatian Coast and islands. It was a region that I wished to visit but never fancied cruising. As our retired lives have been exceptionally busy doing voluntary jobs as well as supporting our daughter who has terminal cancer the Marian cruise was what we needed to recharge our batteries. I feel that is right to tell you that the experience was wonderful and we are determined to repeat the experience cruising further south to the Southern islands. What made it so special was that the holiday was exactly as it had been marketed - relaxing, friendly with the first-class quality of accommodation and service. The captain crew and guide were not only kind and hospitable but highly professional making our holiday a ‘bespoke experience’.   • When my husband and I booked our cruise to Croatia we were excited to see a beautiful country in small ports and islands. We didn’t want a large cruise ship because we wanted to experience the culture, food and people in a more intimate way. Katarina cruises and their staff helped us to have that experience. What we didn’t expect was the way in which each crew member on our small yacht the Matan would facilitate connection, relationships and just fun!!   From different parts of the world we all came together and enjoyed each other, laughing, dancing, talking, singing and some of us swimming!  The captain and crew facilitated those relationships and we had a fun experience while making life long connections. Take a Katarina cruise because  you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend it all. Fabulous!

  • Good morning, I recently returned from my first voyage on Captain Petar's vessel from your home port in Croatia, Opatija. The service was exceptional, probably in a similar category to some of the top hotels in LONDON. By way of explanation, I should explain that I am a boat-owner and have enjoyed travelling around most of the the continents of the world, both for business and pleasure. I would like to summarise the many services that we all enjoyed during that extraordinary and amazing week! The key person', Captain Petar, sets the standards for a successful of operation of this kind. He has a team around him that understands his philosophy of excellence. They have his full support and this shows in the high quality of the services they provide. Many of the other guests commented that they felt completely relaxed within the early days of the voyages. I was immediately impressed by Miloš and Ivan on that first day of our journey. They worked as a "team" serving food and drinks in the saloon, and quickly putting people at their ease. During the day, their skills at anticipating what each guest required helped promote a very friendly atmosphere. In the kitchen, Pauline and Rob created all the excellent meals and were happy to make changes, where necessary, for any personal tastes or allergy issues. In my own case, I had special ingredients that made my experiences quite special. My cabin was looked after by Andjelika and always looked at its best. Small touches including a small flower to show the personal touch. Everyone seemed to anticipate a great morning's swim, snorkelling or using the canoes and paddle boards. Here again, Miloš and Ivan kept us happy with drinks on the swimming deck. The process of backing the ship close to each sheltered cove for our morning swim was a "master class" for us all to watch and admire. Captain Petar always selected the best bay and position allowing us to enjoy each "gem". The crew is always on hand to give advice and guidance. The paddle boards gave us all a chance to laugh when someone fell off; good fun for everyone! I've saved to last, the services, Josephine, probably the most well-informed guide I have seen for a long time. Her walks were interesting, and stimulating and almost everyone enjoyed them. No question was beyond her skills and local knowledge. wherever we were; on the boat or on shore she kept us all involved. I will be coming back for other trips and have already contacted friends to " share these pleasures ". Best regards,

  • This was our first time on a small group  cruise tour and my wife who is blind was very impressed that the crew anticipated her needs and were always courteous and willing to help.   • We just spent seven wonderful days aboard M/S Markan. This cruise was called The Northern Gems, it is a round trip from Trogir to Mali Lošinj and back with six other ports in between. The ship is absolutely spotless and well maintained. The crew is polite, friendly and helpful in every way. The food was first-rate as good if not better than in fancy restaurants on land. It was masterfully prepared, beautifully presented and very tasty. And at every meal they took the time and care to prepare something appropriate for my wife who is on a gluten free and lactose intolerant diet. But most of the credit goes to our wonderful and capable captain, Peter. He oversees every detail to make sure that everything is perfect. I'll just share one detail about his care for passenger comfort. We've done a lot of these cruises on similar ships in the fleet. When the others start their engines the whole ship vibrates and you can hear them in the furthest cabin. Not so on the Markan because when Peter built this ship he made sure that the engines were mounted on rubber mounts thereby eliminating all that noise and vibration. On those early morning departures you can sleep right through to breakfast time. Special thanks goes to Tatjana, the superb Katarina Line guide who cared for our needs and kept us informed of everything that went on  onboard ship and on land excursions. Thank you all, we'll be back.

So lucky to have caught the town celebration in Vis and the religious procession in another port. Plenty of variety of restaurants both for food choice and level of formality/informality. Would like to have a slower pace for walking and more opportunity to rest along the way. Adored the fellow passengers and getting to know them. Captain was always vigilant and on top of everything while simultaneously being gracious to the passengers. The swim spots were refreshing and invigorating. Nice, different experience at the oyster tasting. Loved the liquor there the best. Black risotto was the dish I thought the most exotic. The one on the ship served at the Captain’s Dinner was far superior to the one I ate at a port restaurant. The Captain’s Dinner was magnificent from beginning to end. Everyone had a genuinely excellent time.

  • Excellent time. Fillip worked tirelessly to make sure everything went well. Ivan and Predrag were exceptionally attentive to everything. They all made an effort to connect and entertain the young ones in our group which made it all the more fun for our family.

  • Absolutely perfect! A most relaxing fun-filled experience!

    In July of 2024, my friend and I experienced our first Katarina cruise on the beautiful yacht the MARKAN. Our route was called “Dalmatian Paradise” beginning in Split and returning to Split. It was truly a wonderful trip and one of the best weeks of our lives! I’ve taken many cruises all of which I loved but this by far was “THE BEST”! 

    The Captain, Petar, and his entire crew were amazing! I want to thank Ivan, Predrag, Marko, Duje and Andrea for making this trip so pleasant, fun and very comfortable. Compliments to the chefs, Sasa & Nikola, for the delicious and beautifully presented food! And, also for the best coffee selection ever! The yacht’s resident tour guide, Tatiana, was always so pleasant and she was very attentive to our needs. She went over and beyond! 

    All the excursions were well-planned and enjoyable. I met such wonderful and fun-loving people on board. I’ll never forget all the good times we shared! The yacht was very comfortable, clean and spacious. Our room had a balcony. I am looking forward to a 2 cruise with Katharine- Line soon. I highly recommend Katarina Line. I will always cherish the memorable moments I have of this fantastic week on the MARKAN!

  • Now that we are back and unpacked I wanted you to know what an absolutely fabulous time we all had on our recent cruise. From my standpoint it was probably the best vacation ever.

    I don’t think I have ever experienced a more organized and efficient operation than the Katarina Line. Your customer service is exceptional, and I said time and again how every aspect was seamless and left me, normally the organizer, with not a worry. From the time we were met at Zagreb airport until the end of our trip to Montenegro everything was perfect.

    All of your staff were professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. I’ve never spent a better four hours with a stranger than I did with Luca driving us to Split. Yuri was wonderful as our cruise director. The crew of the Markan were all exceptional. Finally, all the city guides were very professional.

    As a retired teacher for special education students, I was delighted to learn about Katarina’s efforts on behalf of students with Downs Syndrome. Please pass along my appreciation to her.

    Rest assured that I will highly recommend Katarina Line to everyone here in the States. Although I’m predicting that in five years Croatia will have been “discovered” by Americans. We may have seen your beautiful country at the right time. 

    Lastly, thank you for all your personal help over the last two years. You were always quick to answer questions and handle issues. If some emails from my companions caused you any stress I apologize. 

    I hope that we may return to Croatia one day. Until then I wish you and the entire organization the best of success and health.
