Makarska is one of the most popular tourist resort areas on the Adriatic due to its long pebbly beaches and scenic mountains in the background, which create a specific climate and picturesque views.
Malacological Museum holds one of the largest collections of shells and invertebrate fossils in the world with some very remarkable specimens, as well as a collection of flora of the Biokovo mountain and the Adriatic Region. The museum opened in 1963 and is a part of Franciscan Monastery (working hours 10–12h & 17-19h, except during Mass service).
Makarska is a picturesque town on Croatia's Dalmatian coast, located between the azure Adriatic Sea and the towering Biokovo mountains. Famous for its stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife, and rich cultural heritage, Makarska offers visitors a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure.
