Mljet

This part of the island is a protected National Park zone. Within the National Park Zone, there are two connected saltwater lakes (The Big Lake and The Small Lake) and within the Big Lake, there is a small island called St. Mary’s Island, with a 12th-century Benedictine Monastery on it. You can walk around the lakes and visit the island by a local boat.

Mljet is a quiet and protected area where you can enjoy the serenity, the nature and relax your senses. It is home to many endemic plant species and a rich historical heritage. However, there are a lot of options for different activities here as well. Swimming is allowed in the lakes so bring a swimsuit and it is also possible to rent a kayak or a canoe and row along the lakes. Information can be found at the National Park information desk.

Those who want to see more of the island can rent scooters or mini cars. Please note to rent cars you must have a valid driving license, know how to drive stick and on the right side of the road!

If you are not interested in going to the park, you can swim at the beach on the side of the hotel Odisej. Rent a bike and cycle the paths along the lake's shoreline. Feel the tranquillity and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of this peaceful relaxation.
