Rogoznica is a small and quiet place with beautiful nature and a good atmosphere. It is a popular tourist fishermen's place situated in the central part of Dalmatia, near the City of Šibenik.
Written documents of the settlers in this area date back to the 4th century. BC. Fragments of pottery, amphorae, roof tiles, coins, graves, grave monuments, pieces of stone, and sarcophagi have been excavated in recent years. Scholars have concluded from these artefacts that life in the area flourished especially in Antiquity and Late Antiquity.
Take a walk through the alleys of the old town and enjoy the harmony of beautiful scenery.
You can visit a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Chapel – patroness of the Rogoznica people and the harbour since 1776 and the early 17th-century Church Of The Assumption.
In the direction of Marina Frapa, 15 min walking from the place where the ship docks, you will find Lake Zmajevo Oko (Dragon’s Eye), with seawater. The lake is surrounded by sheer cliffs whose average height is 4-24 meters. The lake has no visible surface connections with the surrounding sea, but the lake and sea water both seep through cracks and channels in the porous limestone. Over the centuries, it has happened that the lake "boils," or, as scientists say, there is a rollover of the water column. This unusual natural phenomenon inspired locals to invent different legends and name them.
Discover the enchanting coastal town of Primošten, where crystal-clear waters, stunning beaches, and a charming old town set on a picturesque peninsula await. Immerse yourself in its rich history, savour fresh seafood, and relax amidst breathtaking Mediterranean beauty.
