Bike cruises offer a combination of regular and e-bikes. However, the majority of the group opts for e-bikes due to the challenging routes and ascents. To keep pace with the group, we strongly recommend choosing an e-bike.

Clients bringing their own e-bikes should also bring their own battery chargers. Clients bringing their own e-bikes  they must also bring the battery key so the battery can be detached from the frame. Otherwise, the bike becomes significantly heavier, placing unnecessary strain on the guides and crew.

SWIMMING BREAKS & CYCLING ROUTE

In favorable weather, and depending on the itinerary, regular swim stops will be arranged in secluded bays or after cycling, before setting sail for the next island. The estimated length of daily cycling routes may vary due to local conditions, detours, or shortcuts. Both sailing and cycling routes may be adjusted based on weather conditions and the cyclists’ abilities. Departures typically occur in the morning, mostly after breakfast.

BICYCLES & RESPONSIBILITY

Bike rentals are available upon request. Participants in biking activities are responsible for their own safety and agree to follow the guide’s instructions and decisions. The guide may alter the itinerary based on weather or the group’s abilities. It is important to inform the guide of any health issues that could affect participation in active tours.

If you are joining the Katarina Line bike cruise with your own bicycle, we kindly remind you to bring a lock for securing your bike. This is especially important when the bikes are placed in front of the vessel or during swim stops from the mainland while on a bike route.

Katarina Line is not liable for any damage to personal bicycles during tours or transportation between land and the vessel. Personal bike owners are required to have a repair kit. Clients are also responsible for assembling, disassembling, maintaining, and packing/unpacking their bikes. By renting a bike, clients accept full responsibility for its care and agree to return it in the same condition. Any damage will be charged according to the Katarina Line price list for spare parts, available from the guide upon request.

FOOD & ADDITIONAL MEALS

The trip includes breakfast and either lunch or dinner. We suggest stopping at local restaurants during cycling routes to experience local cuisine. These meals are not included in the trip price and will be paid by guests. Additionally, a Captain's dinner, payable on-site, can be booked (available for the Traditional Ensuite category), hosted by the captain and your tour guide.

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT FOR BIKE CRUISES

We recommend bringing biking shoes, a water bottle, a backpack, sunglasses, cycling gloves, extra clothes, and protection from rain and sun. If using your own bike, a repair kit is mandatory.

What our guests say

Perfect cycling week: good equipment, very professional and friendly supervision.

We particularly appreciated the excellent organisation at all levels, not to mention the top-notch kitchen staff with great meals.

Consider taking a private guided tour of Split on Friday afternoon before returning—it's fascinating.
