In a series of celebrations of different anniversaries and our World days, we decided to stop for a moment and think about what today means.

Down syndrome or Down's syndrome, also known as trisomy 21, is caused by the presence of all or part of the third copy of chromosome 21.^[2] It is usually associated with physical growth delays, mild to moderate intellectual disability, and characteristic facial features.^[1] The average IQ of a young adult with Down syndrome is 50, equivalent to the mental ability of an eight- or nine-year-old child, but this can vary widely.^[11][8]

Looking at the challenges faced by children with Down Syndrome, members of the Association for Down Syndrome - Rijeka 21 felt compelled to do something to create a better future for their children and all members. That is why they came up with the Vidimo sE project, which is focused on people with Down syndrome but also aims to benefit the wider community of people with disabilities.
