Introducing Alpha: The Newest Star of the Katarina Line Fleet in 2025

Captain Marin Tomaš was born in Split in 1994, but his connection to the sea stretches back through eight generations of maritime heritage. His ancestors navigated the Adriatic in various capacities – from long-haul voyages and fishing to cargo transport and nautical tourism. Marin proudly represents the fourth generation of shipowners who have built their own path in the industry.

“Growing up by the sea, surrounded by ships, it was inevitable that I would follow the same course. My family's legacy shaped my character and guided me toward becoming a captain,” Marin shares.

Built in 2020, Alpha is a luxurious mini-cruiser designed to offer guests the ultimate Adriatic experience. Measuring nearly 50 meters in length and 8.6 meters in width, Alpha can accommodate 36 guests, attended by a dedicated crew of eight.

Marin takes immense pride in Alpha’s design and details. “The salon is my favourite part of the ship—it's spacious, luxurious, and always impeccably styled. It’s a place where guests feel special,” he says.

• New flooring in all cabins

• Premium linens for ultimate comfort
